🎸 Hands-On Learning in Advanced Manufacturing!
Advanced Manufacturing student Leona Russell is operating the CNC machine to cut pockets into a guitar body blank—these pockets will house the electronic pickups that bring electric guitars to life!
Meanwhile, David Van Ess, assisted by Quinten Doyle, is pressing frets into his custom fretboard.
Through a partnership with Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Guitars in Stevensville, MD, AMP students are designing and manufacturing their own electric guitars from start to finish. Students are currently:
🧰 Drafting blueprints using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)
🪵 Preparing guitar blanks for custom designs
🎼 Installing frets for future assembly
These hands-on experiences are helping students build real-world skills in manufacturing, engineering, and design. Stay tuned to see their finished guitars!
