Today we proudly recognized our amazing school nurse, Nurse Brenda, for School Nurse Appreciation Day! 💙🩺
Nurse Brenda goes above and beyond every single day to care for our students, support our staff, and make sure our school community stays healthy and safe. From bandages and ice packs to compassion and comfort, she does it all with kindness and dedication.
We are incredibly grateful for everything she does for our kids and our school family. Thank you, Nurse Brenda, for your heart, your care, and your unwavering commitment to our students!
☀️ Last Friday, our kindergarten students enjoyed a fun walking field trip to James T. Wright Memorial Park in Preston! Students played on the playground, ate lunch with friends, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. ✨🌌 May the Fourth Be With You – What a Day! 🌌✨ Our school was full of Jedi, Sith, droids, and galactic heroes yesterday as we celebrated Star Wars Spirit Day! 🚀 From creative costumes to awesome Star Wars gear, the force was definitely strong in our building. ⭐ We loved seeing so many students and staff join in and show their school spirit in a fun, out-of-this-world way!

🎶 Join us for the Preston Elementary School Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the CRHS Auditorium! Our talented students will take the stage for an evening of music featuring performances by Band, Orchestra, Panther Singers, and Chorus. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate their hard work and enjoy a night of entertainment with our PES community—we hope to see all of our Panther families there! 🐾🎵

We celebrated our top Kids Heart Challenge fundraisers in the most exciting way, letting them Silly String the Admin! 😄 Students from Kindergarten through 5th grade had a blast getting to silly string Mr. Angeloni and Mrs. Waters!

PES is excited to celebrate a galaxy-favorite tradition with our “May the 4th Be With You” Spirit Day on Monday, May 4th, 2026! Students and staff are invited to join the fun by dressing in their favorite Star Wars or space-themed gear—whether that’s Jedi robes, space suits, or anything inspired by the stars. It’s a great opportunity to build school spirit, have some fun, and bring a little extra energy to the day. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity—may the Force be with you! 🚀✨
5th graders got to put their Science knowledge to the test on their trip to the Lawrence Wetland Preserve and Holt Education Center today! They learned about pond ecology, native and invasive species, and got to experience the flow of energy through a local pond food chain. Students were able to analyze pond water, learn about the flow of water, and learn about varying levels of salinity in different local bodies of water. They had the opportunity to use nets in the pond to catch different creatures, which were added to an aquarium. Microscopes were used by students to take a closer look at living organisms in the pond water. Finally, students were introduced to four different kinds of turtles that are part of the local ecosystem. They even held a few of them!
Today we celebrate the incredible PES bus drivers who safely transport our students each and every day. 🚍💛

We are incredibly proud of our Panther Singers and Panther Chorus for representing Preston Elementary School at tonight’s Kaleidoscope event at the Denton Courthouse! 🎶
It was an amazing experience to see chorus members from all five CCPS elementary schools come together and perform as one unified group. Despite being the smallest elementary school, PES showed up in a BIG way with such a strong and impressive group of student performers!
After the performance, we made a special stop at The Foundry to view our students’ artwork on display—and wow, the talent at Preston continues to shine in so many ways. 🎨
From music to visual arts, our Panthers continue to inspire us. We couldn’t be prouder!
