Computer Aided Drafting & Design

Construction & Development:

CADD operators or drafters create plans and drawings that are used to construct architectural and mechanical elements. This program prepares students for additional education in the field and/or entry-level employment as a CADD technician. Coursework includes building a foundational understanding of construction and drafting, including hands-on learning.

Is It the Right Fit for Me?

CADD is a unique career that combines elements of computers and drawing/art, so it’s a good fit for people who hold both these interests. Attention to detail is very important. You will be producing drawings based on designs and calculations made by architects or engineers, so the ability to work in a team is also very important.

Careers in the Field

Careers in the field include:

  • Architectural Drafting
  • Mechanical Drafting
  • Electrical Drafting
  • Engineering Technician
  • Civil Engineer
  • Construction Manager
  • Architect

These are just a few examples! Discuss additional career paths with your School Counselor or CCTC's Counselor.
