We hosted Sierra and Ryan, Maryland FFA State Officers at CCTC on Tuesday, January 18th. They led workshops about leadership and challenged students to practice their public speaking skills. Students were asked to work in teams to create a brand new item for the agriculture industry. Our members were really creative with “Cattle Catcher”, “The Teat Line”, “Poop Scooper”, and the “RG 2000- Chicken Feeder”. Students shared their experiences with hogs, chickens, and cattle to assist with their inventions. They also played a team building game called “Electric Fence” where each team member had to safely cross a fence even with obstacles in the way. Members depended on each other for guidance and encouragement to help them cross the fence safely.
The FFA members celebrated National FFA Week February 22-29, 2020. Members showed their FFA Spirit wearing FFA T-Shirts, competing in Ag Olympics, Flannel Friday, Ice Skating with the National FFA officer and state officers, and a few FFA officers who attended the Farm Bureau Banquet on Friday, February 28th.
We are looking forward to the Spring weather and doing more community events!
